Should I water my peach tree at all in the winter?

I have a peach tree that's about 6 feet tall. I bought it from Home Depot in May and this is its first winter in my backyard...am I supposed to water the tree at all through the winter?

Should I water my peach tree at all in the winter?
Peach trees are dormant in the winter and don't need watering.

But I would put a tree guard on it's trunk to protect it from the rodents and wrap plenty of straw around it to protect it from severe temps.

If you don't want to wrap it with a radiant guard, another alternative is to take some white latex paint add a cup of hot sauce or cayenne pepper per gallon and mix well. Paint the tree trunk with the paint and the rodants and bugs will leave your tree alone.
Reply:The only dumb question is the question that is never asked.

We all learn by asking questions, even the ones that most consider dumb.

Enjoy your tree. Report It

Reply:No, the tree will be dormant until Spring.
Reply:NO!!! Let it remain dormant until spring. Then make sure you feed, water and prune it so you get a humongous amount of peaches.
