If I plant a peach pit, will it grow and produce?

I purchase some fruit, peaches included, from a local farmer%26#039;s market. If I plant the seeds and/or peach pits will it grow and produce? If so, how do I go about it?

If I plant a peach pit, will it grow and produce?
it will unless it comes from a grafted tree I would put it in a pot and as soon as it sprouts plant in a sunny spot
Reply:It will sprout and you%26#039;ll have a lovely tree. Occassionally you will get one to bear fruit. However, the fruit may not be edible. That%26#039;s what the experts say. Of course, all trees need to start from seed at one point or another, so go for it. Even if you don%26#039;t get edible fruit, the trees are nice. It helps to have more than one, too.
Reply:It should. I would plant the whole peach. The peach fruit will act as a good fertilizer. Grow it in a pot until it is big enough to plant outside. If you want a producing peach tree sooner, I would suggest buying one and saving the several years it will take for your tree to grow to any useful size.
Reply:It seems it should.
