Peach Cobbler?????????????

Somebody please help me .... I need to make a peach cobbler but i can%26#039;t seem to get the juice thick!!! What should I do???

Thank U In Advance!!!

Peach Cobbler?????????????
OLD FASHIONED PEACH COBBLER

8 or 9 peaches, peeled and sliced

1/2 c. water

1 1/2 c. sugar

2 tbsp. self-rising flour

Pinch of salt

1/2 c. butter, melted

Cook peaches in water until tender. Mix flour, salt and sugar. Add to peaches. Mix. Add melted butter.

PASTRY FOR COBBLER:

1 c. self-rising flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1/3 c. shortening

4 tbsp. sweet milk, or enough to make a stiff dough

Blend flour, salt, and shortening to coarse meal texture. Add milk. Roll on floured surface.

Pour half of peaches in 9x13 inch pan. Cut some dumplings and push dumplings down into the peach juice. Pour remaining peaches in and top with lattice strips. Bake in a 350 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes, or until top is golden brown. I like to sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking. This should be juicy cobbler, not dry.
Reply:The last time I made this, I added a teaspoon of allspice to the peaches, while they were cooking, and I liked the taste. Or you could use cinnamon too.

Thanks, and have a great weekend..... Report It

Reply:add some corn starch to your peaches.
Reply:Cooking time, and thickning ingredients are the best way to control the thickness of the juice. Also remember that the juice will thicken when the cobbler cools a bit.

Typically a cobbler should be cooked for about an hour at 375 degrees. You may want to increase the time by another half hour if you are using frozen peaches. If time isn%26#039;t the issue, you may want to add 1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch, or add extra sugar.
Reply:one thing that i just recently learned from watching Food Network is after you cut your fruit add your sugar and spices then a couple of tsp or tbsp Corn starch or flour sprinkle that on and coat the fruit with it it will natural thicken and it works
Reply:Use the corn starch to make it thicker or heat it.
Reply:quick and easy cobbler

1 cup flour

1 cup milk

1 cupsugar

fruit as you like but if using can or frozen drain juice

mix bake about 350 for 1/2-1 hour cool slightly serve with icecream
Reply:MINNESOTA PEACH COBBLER:

Spray a 13 inch by 9 inch cake pan with PAM cooking spray or Trader Joe%26#039;s Baking Spray.

10 cups frozen peaches

1/8 cup lemon juice

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup flour (no need to shift

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup melted butter

Measure peaches and put them in a large bowl. Let them sit on the counter and thaw, for 10 minutes. Then sprinkle them with the lemon juice and toss (salad style not dispose).

In another smaller bowl combine sugar, salt, flour, and cinnamon. Mix them together with a fork until evenly combined.

Pour dry mixture over the peaches and toss them. (This works best if you use your impeccably clean hands.) Once most of the dry mixture is clinging to the peaches, dump them into the cake pan. Sprinkle any dry mixture left in the bowl on top of peaches in the pan.

Melt the butter. Drizzle it over the peaches. Then cover cake pan tightly with foil.

Bake peach mixture at 350 f. for 40 minutes. Take it out of the oven and set it on a heat proof surface, but don%26#039;t turn off the oven!

TOP CRUST:

1 cup flour (no need to sift)

1 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 stick butter

2 beaten eggs (just stir with a fork)

Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and

salt in the smaller bowl used earlier. Cut in softened butter with a couple of forks until the mixture looks like coarse cornmeal. Add beaten eggs and mix them with a fork. Remove foil cover from the peaches and drop on spoonfulls of the topping. Because the topping is thick, you%26#039;ll have to in little dibs and dabs scraped from spoon with another spoon, a rubber spatula, or with your freshly washed finger. Dab on topping until the whole pan is polka dotted. (don%26#039;t worry if some spots aren%26#039;t covered very well- batter will spread out and fill in as it bakes and result in s crunch crust). Bke at 350f, uncovered, for an additional 50 minutes.
Reply:Separate some of the juice from the main mix and use flour or corn starch. Make sure the juice is already hot when you%26#039;re mixing it them. Then add the hot, thick sauce back into your main dish. Sounds delicious!
Reply:a quick and easy peach cobbler recipe is as follows. use one can of sliced peaches and pour then into your pie dish. when you have done this mix one cup self rising flour with one cup of sugar. blend it well and then add appx. one stick of butter that you will need to melt in the microwave. stir in butter a little at the time until it is in crumbles, do not make it like a dough or it will not work. when all is mixed use your hand to sprinkle over the top of the peaches in about a quarter of an inch layer. you can add more melted butter to the top if you wish to. bake at 325f until crust is golden brown.
