I was playing the game and I saw that Peach is much much hotter and way more flirty.
Has anyone noticed how hot Peach is in Mario Strikers Charged?

Peachy Blueberry Pie
Ingredients:
Crust
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup solid vegetable shortening
5-7 tablespoons cold water
Filling
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 packages (16 ounces each) frozen peach slices, thawed
1 cup blueberries
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. For crust, combine flour and salt in large bowl; mix well. Cut shortening into flour mixture using Pastry Blender until shortening resembles the size of small peas. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of water over flour mixture; gently toss with a fork. Repeat until mixture is moist enough to form a ball. Divide dough in half. Lightly flour Baker's Mat. Place one ball of dough on center of mat; flatten to 1/2-inch thickness. Roll dough from center to edges, forming a 12-inch circle. Place pastry into Deep Dish Pie Plate. Trim pastry even with rim of pie plate.
2. For filling, in large bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon; mix well. Toss peach slices with sugar mixture until evenly coated; gently stir in blueberries. Spoon peach mixture into bottom crust.
3. For top crust, roll remaining dough as directed in Step 1 and place over filling. Fold top crust under bottom crust; seal and flute edges. Whisk egg and water in small bowl; brush evenly over crust. Cut four slits in top crust to allow steam to escape. Sprinkle sugar evenly over crust, if desired. Cover edge of pie with 2- to 3-inch-wide strips of aluminum foil or Pie Shield. Bake 45 minutes; remove foil or Pie Shield. Bake an additional 10-15 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Remove from oven; cool at least 2 hours. Serve with ice cream, if desired.

I need recipes for preserves - peach, tomato, strawberry - any and all with natural ingredients, please!?
Here's a few links and recipes:
Grape Juice Preserves
1/2 cup unsweetened grape juice
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup cold water
Bring grape juice and lemon juice to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 4 minutes.
While simmering, soak gelatin in cold water until dissolved.
Remove juice from heat.
Add gelatin to hot grape juice; mix well.
When cool, pour into small sterilized containers and refrigerate.
Makes 1 1/2 to 2 cups.
I haven't tried this recipe. It's all I could get with no sugar. It came from this site: http://www.recipegoldmine.com/nosugaradd...
And these are kinda neat:
Pepper Jelly
Hot peppers have become a popular garden item. This jelly is a safe and delicious way to preserve them--it's excellent with cream cheese and crackers. However, take caution and wear rubber gloves when handling hot peppers. Sweet peppers may be substituted for hot peppers, if desired.
4 or 5 hot peppers, cored and cut in pieces
4 sweet green peppers, cored and cut in pieces
1 cup white vinegar
5 cups sugar
1 pouch (1/2 bottle) liquid pectin
Green food coloring
Yields 5 half-pint jars
Sterilize canning jars. Put half the peppers and half the vinegar into blender container; cover and process at liquify until pepper is liquified. Repeat with remaining peppers and vinegar. Combine liquified peppers, sugar, and vinegar in a large saucepot and boil slowly for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add liquid pectin and boil hard 1 minute. Skim and add a few drops of green food coloring. Pour jelly immediately into hot canning jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Wipe jar rims and adjust lids. Process 5 minutes in a boiling water bath.
Pear-Apple Jam
2 cups peeled, cored and finely chopped pears (about 2 pounds)
1 cup peeled, cored, and finely chopped apples
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup bottled lemon juice
1 pouch liquid pectin
Yields 7 or 8 half-pint jars
Sterilize canning jars. Crush apples and pears in a large saucepan. Stir in cinnamon. Thoroughly mix sugar and lemon juice with fruits and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Immediately stir in pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; quickly skim off foam. Pour jam immediately into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Wipe jar rims and adjust lids. Process 5 minutes in a boiling water bath.

What Color goes best with Peach?
I am painting my bathroom and it currently has this hideous peach tile. Need suggestions.
What Color goes best with Peach?
Try creating a color pallette here.
Reply:Khaki is a great color with just about anything. Try that and a simple faux finish...that should give you the modern look you are trying to achieve.
Reply:really knock your eyes out with fire-weed red...
y'know you can remove the tile and replace it with something you like, yes it is work and expense, but this is your space we're talking about, and you don't like it...change it to what you do like.
grow your wings kid, and fly.
Reply:Yikes not that 70's peach... tough one
maybe an off white or beige might blend it with it
or compliment it?
Try holding some paint chips beside the tiles or if you have an extra tile bring it with you to the store.
The tone of peach and undertones will make a big difference in the shade you choose.
Reply:I would say a cream/off white would look nice but if you really hate the "hideous peach tile" i saw this paint (i forgot the name of it) on HGTV that allows you to paint basically any color over your current tiles and it covers evenly. The show only used the paint on some border tiles though so it may not work as well on the floor if is high-traffic.
Reply:try a little neutral beige or whites.
Reply:A deep Turquoise goes great with peach!Try a sampler before actually matching the colors out.Take a few days to decide if these are the colors that you want.
Reply:My house was built in the 50's and has pink tile. It has a gray border. Sounds ugly; well the bathtub matchs. So did the toilet and sink, but we replaced them... I hide the tub with a pretty shower curtain.
To accent the tiles, I have black and white stripes on the wallpaper with a cute border; it ties the colors in real well.
A tropical theme would work, but if you want classy; go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a bunch of color chips. Try all colors, but stay away from blah colors....tans, whites, cremes will be dull. You need a color to make it POP...like the guy said a red would be great. Don't worry, it's not the end of the world. I wouldn't recomment painting the tile. It may not last and then were would you be.....
Get some chips and go to town. Do you have a digital camera? Take and pic and email to me and I will help you!
Good Luck

Reply:Add a tile mural over the tile-- just mount it on backer board and frame in a stone tile frame- then mount over the existing tile- maybe a tropical beach scene with corals ,greens and turqs -- to tie colors together.

Reply:Red. BRIGHT red.
Dont listen to people who said creme because peach and creme make for a very bland room. The colors are all dull. You need a color that pops.
Teal goes with peach too. If you have hardwood flooring, these colors would be perfect.
Or even with creme or off-white carpet, use a color that stands out.

How do i stop my peach fronted conure from bitting? he is 8 months old?
i just got an 8month old peach fronted conure and we are trying to get him not to bite does anyone have any suggestions for me we are also working with him on steping up
How do i stop my peach fronted conure from bitting? he is 8 months old?
Now is the time to start training your bird because he is so young but please be patient, birds aren't trained overnight.
My bird (whom I rehomed when he was 15-years old) is so well trained with the biting issue that he'll bite and then say, "Mikki, no bite!", or bite and then say, "Kiss?".
You may find the links below helpful.
Silver2sea
Reply:"Stepping up" and biting are closely related topics because one can be used to discipline the other.
If your bird bites when you reach into his cage, use a perch to remove him from the cage. Press the perch gently but firmly into his abdomen and say "Up" in a firm voice. Once you have the bird on the perch you can transfer him to another perch or to your hand in the same manner. You may need to use perches for awhile until he stops biting at a reaching hand.
If the bird is on your hand when he bites, then do this: Bobble your hand and say "No bite!" firmly at the instance of the bite. The bobbling makes the bird very uncomfortable- he thinks he's going to fall and he will stop biting and step around rapidly to regain his footing. Then use your finger or the perch and IMMEDIATELY make him step up, again and again. Make sure you say "Up" every time. (I do it about 6-8 times if a bird tries to bite me or succeeds in biting me) Then I hold the bird below my eye level and give him a "hairy eyeball." This is a glare (eyebrows down, mouth scowling) DIRECTLY into the eyes of the bird. They don't like this at all. My birds will get this wide-eyed "innocent" look when they get the hairy eyeball and often will turn their heads away to break eye contact with me. It's obvious they understand that I am upset with them.
You are showing the bird who is boss by making him uncomfortable and unsure while he is misbehaving. Remember that birds equate dominance with height, so your bird's cage and perches should be well below your eye level. Never put him on your shoulder- a bird on your shoulder thinks he's your equal and the next bite could be your ear, lip, or eye. When you're making him step up, keep him below your eye level at all times. NEVER hit a bird. They do not understand it at all and may bite you more severely in response. Also, birds are fragile. A 'tap' to your dog could break a bone or beak on a bird. (Not that I'm advocating hitting your dog, either!)
Remember to reward your bird for being good, too, not just discipline when bad. I am 100% for bribing parrots with food treats when they're good. Find a favorite treat of your bird's- mine like Honey Nut Cheerios- and use it ONLY during training sessions. Every time the bird does what you want it to- stepping up, stepping off, etc., say "Good Bird" in a high-pitched, overly happy voice, and give him the treat. Don't treat your bird to stop him from screaming, though- he'll have you waiting on him hand and foot around the clock. Try to ignore demaning screaming, or cover him with a dark sheet and turn out the lights for about a half hour. Then when he's quiet, uncover him, say "Good Bird!" and give him that treat.
With consistant and firm training, your bird's biting should be greatly reduced. Do yourself a huge favor and get a subscription to Bird Talk magazine- it is fantastic!
Good Luck!
Reply:Everytime he tries to bite gently take your finger and thap his beak.at the same time say NO loudly..thapping is like when you flick your forfinger off your thumb, they get the message real quick. show love after and talk to him and praise him when he doesnt bite...it works but takes time for some...
Reply:Please, don't tap the bird's beak. This can cause them to get angry with you or think that you're being aggressive and become afraid of you. When he bites, he's probably just trying to get you to stop what you're doing (such as putting your hand in the cage or having him step up), and when you take your hand away because he bites, this encourages him to keep doing it! It makes him think "well, if I bite, I get what I want, so I'll keep doing it!". Just ignoring the biting and showing him that biting doesn't solve anything usually makes the bird stop and find other ways of communicating with you.
If this doesn't work, gently pinch the beak and look the bird in the eye and say "no" in a firm voice. Don't break eye contact until the BIRD looks away. This shows him that you're dominant and it needs to listen to you. The reason pinching the beak works and tapping doesn't is because tapping can actually hurt the bird or seem aggressive to it. Pinching doesn't hurt them at all, and because it is a more calm action, it doesn't seem aggressive. They respond very well to this because it's causing the bird to realize that the action is unacceptable, but doesn't make the bird afraid of you or angry with you. Reply:give him bones so he will not bite u onley on the boney that he is chewing on
Reply:He'll stop biting when he trusts you. For stepping up, try and push him gently on his stomach and if he wants to step up he'll probably step up.

Anyone know how to start peach trees from seeds?
I have a dwarf peach tree and it is covered with fruit and I want to know how to start grow trees from the seeds. Any help would be appreciated !
Anyone know how to start peach trees from seeds?
Most fruit trees these days are actually two plants grafted together. The root area up to the "flair" (area where the two plants are joined) is called the stock. The part of the tree producing the fruit is called the scion.
Grafting is done to combine the strong root system of a particular variety with the high-yield of fruit produced by another variety.
If you attempt to produce your peach from seed, it wont turn out anything like the one you have now! In fact, the peaches will likely be stunted with disease and rot directly on the stem.
Sorry to be such a bum! You're better off researching a quality variety at a nursery and adding it to your collection.
Reply:The easy way.... plant it. That's all you REALLY have to do. Nature will take its course.
Reply:go to a nursery and get some rooting compound %26amp; follow the directions!

PEACH SMOOTHIE with frozen peaches recipe????
How to make a SMOOTHIE with FROZEN fruits?? PEACH smoothie recipes??
Yeah, you just put the frozen fruit in. Then you need some kind of juice base...I like to use orange juice. If you like it icey, add ice cubes (4-6). If you like it creamy, add yogurt. I like mine icey. Here's my favorite smoothie recipe:
-1 banana
-10-15 frozen blueberries
-6-8 frozen strawberries
-Orange juice (just add enough so it blends...around 2 cups)
Then I add protein powder and ground flax seed...but this is just for health, optional.
You can add peaches to that, or just use peaches and banana, or peach banana pineapple coconut...anything like that. Experiment and see what you like. The best fruits for smoothies are strawberries, blueberries, bananas, pineapple, peaches, coconut...raspberries are OK but I don't like the seeds in them (makes it hard to drink). Never use grapes, apples, pears or citrus fruits (some of the juices are OK to use though).
Reply:I just had one for lunch today:
1 c. liquid (usually about 3/4 c. juice and 1/4 c. milk)...plus yogurt to match the fruit, or vanilla (small container or about 1/2-3/4 c.)... then I toss in the frozen fruit and a few ice cubes. Today, I used frozen mango and peach yogurt:) .... You can put in a banana, if you want, but it's not necessary...... I keep bags of frozen mango, blueberries, cherries, peaches %26amp; strawberries, and buy flavored yogurt to match them......
Reply:I'm honestly not sure I've ever messed up a smoothie. :)
Yeah, you can throw in frozen fruit that's still frozen.
I throw in whatever fruit I've got Strawberry/Banana is a good combo, you could add peaches to that. All berry is good. I just put in a handful of each fruit. Kiwi and mango works fine.
Then I add a cup or two of orange juice.
I've never tried plums, grapes, or apples. I have used nectarines, apricots, and even cherries (cherries don't blend too well). You can add a little sugar or honey but you really don't need it.
I usually add a little ice. You can also (and this really turns it into something other than a smoothie but it's darn tasty once in a while) a scoop of orange sherbet. I'd leave out the ice when you do that.
Reply:basic recipe: frozen fruit (still frozen) a few tablespoons of yogurt (plain or vanilla), and juice apple or orange work depending on the fruit flavors. and blend away.
Reply:OK so just put the black Berry's in and add vanilla ice cream then add milk and blend awsome smoothy.
mix it around a bit

Does anyone have a recipe for Applebee's Peach Sangria?
I went to applebee's and had their white peach sangria. The description said white zin, peach schnapps, tropical juice and sprite. I've tried to recreate this several times and at several different bars. It comes out a lot pinker than the one that I had at applebees. I'm having a party and want to make some of this sangria. If anyone knows how to make it, or even something close to it, I'd love to know.
Does anyone have a recipe for Applebee's Peach Sangria?
Someone claiming to know an Applebees bartender posted this response:
Red Apple Sangria
3 oz Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
1 oz Shakka Red Apple
1/2 oz Grenadine
1 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Cranberry Juice
Splash lemon-lime soda
Garnish with a maraschino cherry, lime and orange wedge squeezed. Pour over ice in a big glass.
Instead of Red Apple Shakka (whatever that is), just put in peach snapps, for the cabernet replace w/white zin, and you can try a white peachy cran-blend (oceanspray)? Good luck!

mine are full of green fungus on the the branches and trunk, there isnt much that will get rid of it.
I don't have a problem with the ants, but the birds love eating apples
Reply:I would reccommend that you use a product called bordeaux mixture. It is a "concoction of hydrated lime and copper sulphate." Applied to the tree while dormant, it prevents most leaf spot dieseases and fungii. It is available commercially under a few different brand names and is inexpensive. Also, do not allow fallen leaves or fruit to winter on the ground under the tree.
As for ants, you can purchase a sticky goo that you apply to a foam wrapper around the trunk of the tree. This makes a barrier to ALL crawling insects as long as no branches touch the ground. I'm not sure what it's called, but it should be available at any garden shop.
Reply:You have to spray every year in the spring and trim the trees in the fall.

Is there ANY restaurant serving Peach Cobbler in the Augusta, GA area??
My mom is here to visit (i'm in Evans,GA) and she's dying to taste some homemade peach cobbler. I'm almost convinced there ISN'T any here. The only place we found serving it was Piccadilly's and that was very runny looking, so we decided not to try it. I know most of you don't live here, but if you've heard of a place in the Evans, Augusta, Martinez, or N. Augusta areas serving this, I would appreciate the help. =)
Is there ANY restaurant serving Peach Cobbler in the Augusta, GA area??

Reply:Well, I dont live in the Augusta area, I stay a little closer to Atlanta...But if you have a Bojangles around then try that, if not, maybe at a Golden Corral or a Ryans, hope this helps!
Reply:Fire Mountain in North Augusta. They have peach cobbler in the desert buffet and it's pretty good.
Take your Mom to some Edgefield, SC produce stands. Cooks is the best. The best peaches in the world will be available there in the next two weeks.
Reply:We live in McDonough, Ga and our Golden Corral has really good peach cobbler. You might also check and see if you have a Cracker Barrel there if they have it. If you aren't able to find a restaurant that has it I included a website with a recipe for one. If all else fails have fun making one together but don't forget to add the vanilla ice cream on top .......mmmmm mmmmmmm Good
Reply:I don't know about Augusta but Shane's Rib Shack has peach cobbler.

Why arent caucasian people called Peach people?
they're not white...they're peach. and afro american people should be called brown people. this is in no way meant to be offensive. i'm just wondering....neither of the colors are correct.
Why arent caucasian people called Peach people?
Black Canadians call themselves brown unless they are really really black.
Reply:IM " PINK "
Reply:Haha, I have never thought of that. I'm a peach person!
Reply:We should just refer to ourselves as Caucasians or African-Americans, etc...
Reply:yeah i know thats true. black people however arent black but are brown. but thats just the way we got used to it. it sounds better than brown people or peach people.

Has anyone had success planting peach trees from seed?
I live in a tropical area and would like to try growing a couple of peach trees from seed.
Has anyone had success planting peach trees from seed?
Most commercial peaches are harvested from grafted trees. You can start from seed, but it will take a LONG time until they produce fruit. Also remember that peaches, like apples, need a different species tree to cross-pollenate for fruit.
Peaches from seeds are possible, but either you need the patience of Job or the greenthumb of a Master. Your best bet is to buy a commercially grafted set of trees.
Good luck!
Reply:I have no luck with any tree from seed.
Reply:When I was a kid I planted peach tree seeds and grew three large peach trees. I lived in far west Texas where the summers were warm and dry. Each summer the trees produced more peaches than we could eat or package. We gave them away for free.
So yes, you can grow them from seed if the climate is right. For starters you may want to plant them in a pot with good sandy soil, and add small amounts of fertizer until they reach a size where you can transplant them.
Reply:Don't know how experienced you are in such things. Most fruit seeds you might save and plant, you will not get the same type of fruit. Both peach, yes, but a lot of fruit trees are grafted. I have recently done that with apple seeds, and the apples suck. They are like crabapples.
Reply:strange but I was under the impression that peach trees don't do very well unless they have a winter dormant season. But I guess places like Georgia and Texas wouldn't have any peaches then, so that must be wrong. Also, I would think you would need to wait at least 10 years before you see a peach from a tree you started from seed...hope you are patience!

We then sprinkled a box of dry yellow cake mix on top of the peaches and then poured the juice from the two cans of peaches on top of the cake mix (some of the cake mix was still dry).
Perhaps it was the out doors environment, but it was the best Peach Cobbler I have had.

What is the differnce between peach and apricot?
Which is more healty and which tastes better? does apricot have the same fuss as a peach?
What is the differnce between peach and apricot?
Peaches and apricots are totally different fruits with different flavours so it is difficult to say which tastes better, it will depend on who you ask. I prefer peaches myself but it is a close race :)
Apricots are actually more closely related to plums and no, they do not have a fuzzy skin like a peach. Dried apricots are very popular and are sweet and chewy. Try the brown dried apricot, it is easier to find the orange ones but they are treated with sulphates and may not agree with you.
Peaches are low in saturated fat, cholesteral and sodium, and are high in vitamin C, dietary fibre, vitamin A, niacin and potassium. They would be a helpful addition to a weight loss program.
Apricots are rich in beta carotene, which becomes vitamin A in your body, vitamin C, and has some niacin as well, and has potassium to, and are a good source of fibre also.
So, both are good for you.
Health wise, I prefer apricots because the dried fruit is a convenient portable snack.

Reply:Peaches has a fury skin. Whereas apricots are smooth. Peaches are more sweet, whereas apricots have a sourness to them. You have to add much more sugar to the apricots when using them in cooking. As far as the nutrients go, I would think they have about the same as they both are citric type fruits.

How to tie back broken peach tree branch?
My peach tree is 4 years old and had a very good crop. Because of excessive fruit, one of the big branches bent too much and broke half way from the main trunk. Can I save it by tying or something else?
How to tie back broken peach tree branch?
Pull it back into place, lighten the load by thinning most of the fruit off the broken branch. Wrap tightly with electrical tape to completely seal the wound. Next spring cut the tape off. The branch will have healed.

Pull it back into place, lighten the load by thinning most of the fruit off the broken branch. Wrap tightly with electrical tape to completely seal the wound. Next spring cut the tape off. The branch will have healed.

Are Princess Daisy and Princess Peach related?
My little sister was playing Super Mario Strikers and wondered if Princess Daisy was related to Princess Peach.
Wikipedia doesn't say, so I figured I'd just ask here.
Are Princess Daisy and Princess Peach related?
They ARE NOT cousins. They're just 2 different princesses from 2 different kingdoms.
Reply:Woops forgot that. Go here: http://www.mariowiki.com/Main_... and then search for Peach or Daisy. Then scroll down and look for the relationship between the two. And I also know the answer from playing various Mario games that reveal their story. Report It

How do I organically fertilize peach tree in lawn?
I have a peach tree in my front lawn. There is no room to work anything into the soil as it is surrounded by grass. How can I fertilize it with organic fertilizers without destroying or burning the lawn? What kind of fertilizers should I use?
How do I organically fertilize peach tree in lawn?
There is a good organic fertilizer company called ESPOMA, they are a nationwide company so you should be able to find their product at your local independent garden center. Check them out on the WEB as well. I'm sure they have a product for fruit trees (if nothing else, look at the 'Gardentone' product)
They sell granular fertilizer. The directions will indicate to use a number of cups of product. Always follow the directions on all of your garden chemicals or fertilizers.
Use a thick tomato wooden tomato stake, and drive it into the ground about 8-10" deep. Do this at the drip line of the tree (the furthest point that the branches reach, and then in toward the trunk about a foot). Drive at least four holes, though more is better, probably no more than 10 or 12. Distribute the fertilizer into those holes... as evenly as you can figure. So, if the instructions say to use 3 cups of fertilizer, you would divide that much fertilizer into 4 (or how many holes) holes that you have made. Follow the directions, but ESPOMA products are generally used 2 or more times per year...
Back fill in the holes with a little topsoil. The grass should fill in those spots in weeks.
I hope that this helps
Reply:give it a hand full of DOG food, [read the list of ingredients in it] By jerry baker top gardner,
Reply:Apply a liquid fertilizer around the tree at the drip line.
If you can't find an organic one in the store, then you can make some manure tea. To make tea get organic compost or organic composted manure, put it in a fabric or burlap bag, tie it shut with a rope, place it in the bottom of a bucket and tie the other end of the string to the handle (so it doesn't fall in). Fill the bucket with water and let stand in a sunny area for a few days to a week. When ready, lift out the tea-bag by the rope and water your tree and grass with the tea. If it seems too strong, you can always add water.
Reply:You can remove 6" of grass around and put compost, then add red cedar chips.

Is there a cure for curly leaves on peach tree planted 1 yr ago?
My dad resides in Chicago and has planted a peach tree he has noticed peach buds but are sourrounded by curly leaves, can he save the tree? is there anything he can do at this point? Please help as my dad has very little knowledge in planting fruit trees he also has an apple tree we have not spotted any diseases but have noticed lots of flowers. thanks
Is there a cure for curly leaves on peach tree planted 1 yr ago?
This is a specific condition, and Miracle Gro is not going to help in any way. It is not a matter of fertilization or nutrient deficiency. Some people think that if you just dump the fertilizer to a plant that it will make everything all right.
This plant probably has what is known, appropriately, as "peach leaf curl". There are a number of products on the Death To The Earth Poison Aisle at the garden center/hardward store.
Peach trees are not particularly excited about life. There are a few locations around the country where they will deign to survive and even produce. I have only been acquainted with one man from Georgia, and he refused to put out, so I was not able to glean the Peach Tree Secrets from him once he was lulled by my feminine wiles. C'est la vie.
I'd tell Dad to stick with the apples. They are so much more versatile, anyway.
Reply:To prevent peach leaf curl, treat peach and nectarine trees every year after leaves have fallen (late November). Copper-based fungicides including Bordeaux mixture (a slurry made of hydrated lime and copper sulfate, tribasic copper sulfate, calcium polysulfides, metallic copper, or synthetic fungicides can be used. However, to be effective, copper-containing compounds must have at least 50% copper; those containing less do not adequately control leaf curl despite advertising claims. If timed properly, a single fall/winter spray will normally prevent losses.
In areas of high spring rainfall or when spring rainfall is abundant, it may be advisable to apply a second copper spray or a lime sulfur treatment in spring, preferably before buds begin to swell, but definitely before budbreak (when green color is first visible).
Although symptoms of leaf curl are seen primarily in spring as new leaves develop, there is little you can do to control the disease at this time. Some people remove diseased leaves or prune infected shoots, but this has not been shown to improve control. (Pruning in fall, however, can reduce the spore inoculum overwintering on the tree.) Normally, diseased leaves fall off within a few weeks and are replaced by new healthy leaves, unless it is rainy. If leaf curl symptoms occurred on your trees in spring, be sure to treat the following fall, around late November, to prevent more serious losses the next year.
Reply:It is called peach leaf curl and it is a virus, which deforms the leaves and causes welts and for the foilage to curl up. It doesnt kill your tree outright but it does weaken it if left untreated. It happens every year following the new leaves. There are fungicides that can control any outbreaks. I have no idea what their trade names are in the US but any nursery can help you out.
Reply:I would not use anything but Miracle Grow at this point. It should work.

How to transplant a dwarf peach tree?
I'm moving. Bought a weeping dwarf peach tree last year. Want to transplant it to our new house. I live in southern Kansas. The tree already has buds on it. Is it safe to move?
How to transplant a dwarf peach tree?
make sure you get all of the root ball wraped in something that will keep it intact. put it in a well prepard hole with a small bit of time release fertillizer.if the tree does not flower this year ,you will have it in your new yard for next year.
Reply:Please,a vertically challenged peach tree if you don't mind, whatever happened to political correctness
Reply:How big is it? Long long has it been in it's spot? How long do you have to deal with the moving of it?
All these are factors. The smaller the tree, the shorter the time it's been in the ground, all mean a lower risk.
Transplanting when it's still dormant is best, and if it's only got buds, not leaves, you may be okay.
Spade straight down into the ground all around the trunk, in a circle big enough to get most of the root ball. As big as you think you can manage. Water. Wait 2-3 days, then spade again, trying to go a little deeper, and angling under the root ball toward the trunk as you go around. (again, the bigger the rootball you can manage, the better). Water. Wait 2-3 days. Then continue, removing the tree from the hole, move to its new location, plant, water well. And continue to water deeply once a week if there is no rain.
If the tree has put out leaves - the recommended way to move it and have the best shot at success it to strip off the leaves completely before you move it. It would pain me to do it - but it usually works. The reason trees die in moves is usually shock due to the water loss from having its roots cut. You can reduce the shock by reducing the water loss. Trees lose a lot of water through their leaves, and by removing them, the tree will be able to stay more hydrated. A tree can survive a complete de-foliation in one season without much ill effect. It will grow new leaves.

How to care for a peach tree?
I have a few peach trees that are full grown %26amp; need information on how to care for them.I need to know how and when to trim them and what kind of pesticides r safe to use on them...Thank You
How to care for a peach tree?
Having grown peaches commercially for many years, I looked at several websites to see which might be most helpful for you and found the following and posted them below. They have great information about pruning tips, fertilization programs as well as providing fungicide and insecticide control.
Not sure where you live but one of the most important diseases you have to avoid is "Peach Leaf Curl". This disease overwinters in the bark of peach trees and attacks young leaves and fruit soon after they emerge. In some cases, it can cause complete defoliation of the tree and all of your fruit will be lost. To prevent this from happening, you should spray a copper-based fungicide several times before trees begin to bloom. You can find this fungicide in most home %26amp; garden shops.
Try to keep your tree properly fertilized and watered throughout the growing season.
GOOD LUCK! Hope this you get a great crop of peaches this summer!

Reply:Trimming: trim them in late fall - early winter. trim them so that you create as much horizontal wood as possible. Your goal is to get as much fruit out in the sun as possible. your local extension agent should have a manual on this.
Spraying: you must spray peach trees with an insecticide and a fungicide every two-three weeks. It is best if you use 2 different insecticides and 2 different fungicides and alternate them so the fungi and insects don't get used to them. DO NOT spray when the tree is in bloom or you will kill the good insects who are helping you with pollination. In the fall, spray the trees with a dormant oil.
Pollination: you will have better fruit crops if you have at least two different varieties of peach tree. Trees within the same variety do not pollinate each other vary well.
Thinning: always thin the fruit so that there is not too much weight on each branch and so they do not touch each other.

What does the color of peach fashion depict?
I have another project for my fashion class. My title for this project might be 'Peachy Wear for Fall,' but I haven't thought of the theme yet. What should the theme be? What does the color of peach (or any peachy color) fashion depict, especially in the fall?
What does the color of peach fashion depict?
I want to see 7pink......
Reply:I think the name you picked is very corny; well peach can be sexy or girly, it depends on which colors you combine it with and how you accessorize and use the color. When I'm wearing peach I normally pick a girly and feminine peach and black silk-with black lace top and pair it with something cute, but something that offsets the girliness; like a gold chunky chain necklace and then I go with sexy high-heels and a navy denim miniskirt with black tights.

Dropping Colour oddity on a Peach-faced Loveird?
My peach-faced lovebird whose about 9 months old has been leaving brown-green droppings instead of his usual green droppings. He's been getting alot more vegetables and rice lately, is it a diet change thats affecting his stool or something I should be concerned with?
Dropping Colour oddity on a Peach-faced Loveird?
Vegetables can change the color of droppings. However, the color you are describing still sounds normal.
Droppings should have white and be a dark green or brown. It should be accompanied by a small amout of urine surrounding the urates (white part). The stool (green/brown part) should be coily and will reflect what he eats. bird seed diets reflect dark green while pellet diets will reflect the color of the pellets.
The time to worry is if the droppings are runny. Or they are a bright green or black. Yellow or green stained urates are also an indicator of illness. The urates should always be white and chalky when dry. Pale or foamy droppings or a consistant change in the amount should be a concern.
What you are describing sounds perfectly normal. I wouldn't worry about it.
Reply:It probably is the food change that has changed your bird's droppings. Keep an eye on them. If the color change continues after the diet is back to normal, or your bird starts showing other signs of illness, get it to an avian vet asap.

Is to much iced black peach tea bad for you?
I make a pitcher of hot water put 4 stash peach black tea bags in it and set in the refridgerator i drink it without sugar but i drink 2-4 tall glasses of it a day is it bad for you?
Is to much iced black peach tea bad for you?
I never used to think so. I am now a big tea drinker. Starting
with two cups in the morning, and then later I start having iced
tea with extra lemon and sweetner. I don't know if there's any
connection, but I've been having urinary tract problems for
awhile now. And tho they've been cleared up, there is still
a problem that lingers. I have a problem with being dehydrated, and was in the hospital for it. I am going to start drinking more ice water and see if there will be any changes. They say you should drink alot of water daily, to flush out your kidneys to make them work correctly. So even tho the effects of drinking tea helps in many ways to ward off this and that, too much of a good thing, isn't always as good for you, as you may think.
Reply:no, not at all..the worst thing is that you'll get a caffeine addiction. But some people drink much more caffeine than your 2-4 glasses of tea. don't worry about it.

Hey you all someone chose peach and navy blue for their wedding colors how would they make those colors work?
This lady I know is planning a wedding for her sister and her sister wants the colors navy blue and peach, I thought it was an odd color choice. So how would she make those colors work together? Do any of you think its an odd color choice?
Hey you all someone chose peach and navy blue for their wedding colors how would they make those colors work?
BOUQUETS/FLOWERS: Peach and whitel flowers w/Navy blue ribbon.
WEDDING DRESS: I've seen alot of bridal gowns now featuring navy accents...peach too! A splash of color can easily be added to an all white gown by adding a sash around the waist. Sapphire jewelry can tie in the Navy color as well if not really wanting to have "color" on the gown.
BM DRESSES: Either solid navy blue (with the peach bouquets) OR white %26amp; peach dresses w/sapphire jewelry.
TABLES: White table cloths w/peach and navy blue runners alternating table to table.
CENTERPIECES: Hurricane vases or other clear vessels. Fill the ones going on the Navy table runners w/peach sand and white candle. Fill the ones going on the peach table runners w/navy sand and white candles. Scatter some CLEAR glass floral marbles around the bases.
CAKE: mainly white icing, navy 'ribbon', peach flowers to match bouquet added.
I think that color combo CAN be pulled off quite nicely...just remember, don't make EVERYTHING ALL Navy and Peach. Having most items TOTALLY solid navy/peach w/no contrast will look like an overkill of color.
If you incorporate a lot of white and use those colors for contrast, you will end up w/a very rich and elegant effect.
If there's anything in particular you need ideas for, please feel free to email me! ;-)
OH---here....
Here are some pics I found, just to give you an idea of the color scheme:

If I come across anymore in this scheme, I'll post it to.
Reply:I think it's lovely, they are complementary colours. Best that the peach be a strong peach, not pale. For example, the bridesmaid's dresses could be peach, with a navy sash.
I would suggest maybe one more colour as an accent, maybe sage?
Reply:Its the first time Ive heard of peach and blue. I think if the peach is a deep peach, and the blue is very dark like midnight blue, it will work.
Reply:i think it's a very strange choice of colour.. i think these options are better if she's wanting the peach or navy:
navy with..
~ powder blue, mid green and sea green
~ dark purple, black and charcoal
~ royal blue, deep burgundy and pale beige
~ periwinkle, dark lavender and grey beige
~ lime green, turquoise and dark 'forest' green
~turquoise, aqua green and lime
peach with..
~ pale yellow, dirty ivory and aqua
~ custard, khaki and white
~ tomato, tobacco and brick
~ pink burgundy, bright pink and beige grey
~ rust, milk chocolate and pink burgundy
~ tobacco, cardinal (purple) and eau de nil
~ hot pink, nectarine (more pinky) and dirty apple
~ nectarine, pale brick and mushroom
~ bubblegum pink, purple and dark green
~ milk chocolate, raspberry pink and orange
~ cream, pale eau de nil and pale dirty pink
(all taken from the book mentioned below)
if she is set on having peach and navy then i suggest:
~ peach bridesmaid dresses or accessories
~ navy mens suits with peach coloured flowers
~ peach ribbons
~ navy balloons
~ navy candles
~ navy coloured jewellery
i think if she's going to have the colours together she should go for a lighter peach and a dark navy
hope this helps xx
Reply:Try using one of those colors as the main color, then add pieces of the other color to that main color
Reply:It's a little odd, but maybe that's why she picked them. She probably wanted something different, and depending on the shade they can go well together. Navy blue and yellow is a very popular combination, so I'm sure peach will work as well. And people will notice how nice and different it is!
Reply:they will compliment each other well, she could have peach roses or peonies and blue delphiniums, that would be beautiful!!
Reply:The bouquet could be Peach Roses with navy blue mini flowers and the tables could have Peach Roses and the table clothe could be navy blue her dress could be Peach and the Future husbands could be navy tux.
Reply:I think you could make any colors work together with alittle creativity.Try using one of those colors as the main color, then add pieces of the other color to that main color. It also depends on fabric, and decorations, what type of things are you trying to put together for those colors? The dresses could be peach and add navy ribbon around the waist, add alittle mot too much of the other color or would look loud.If ya need more advice just ask me and let me know how hings work out.Good luck!!

I have a very old peach tree in my backyard & it's got some black dots?
This peach is said to be from spain according to my grandmother who owns it and it's old. It has these round black.....bugs?.....almost like a sal/potato bugs all curled up stuck to the branches and there is a bit of sappy looking stuff between each one. If I pick one off and smash it...a yellowish/greenish color comes out. Can anyone tell me what this could be and how to get rid of the bug and bring the tree to health? I'm in California zone 9 if that helps
I have a very old peach tree in my backyard %26amp; it's got some black dots?
Hard to say, but I'm sure that if you take a sample bug or two to your local University of California agricultural station, they can tell you in a second. Each county in CA also has an agriculture division that handles such questions if you don't have a UC near you.
I have peach trees, but I've never seen a bug that looks like the one that you describe. If they are getting at the sap, they might carry infections to the live part of the tree, or be laying eggs there that could damage your tree. On the other hand, it could be harmless or even beneficial. So, get it checked out before you start whacking them with insecticides or organic remedies.
Good luck.

Looking for a funny TV Commercial with a peach and pork loin - cartoon type?
I saw a TV commercial while in Anchorage AK last Tuesday night. A cartoon type peach %26amp; pork loin are in love %26amp; end up jumping into the fire when 'chicken breast' comes in to get peach. Sounds crazy, but it was funny. Anyone know of it?

I saw your question earlier and thought you were loony (sorry) but I just saw it and it IS hysterical!! It's for apricot glazed pork loin. It's "Pork. The other white meat." The pork council I suppose.

Anyone have a recipe for Peach Cobbler?
Boyfriend loves it--but I don't have a recipe. Since peach season is starting to bloom here, I want to make it for him. Thank you.
Anyone have a recipe for Peach Cobbler?
Peach Cobbler
This recipe was given to me many years ago by Mrs. Orin Stevens of Fargo, ND. She told me she'd gotten it from a church cookbook. I've used fresh, frozen and canned peaches with equal success.
3 cups peaches, peeled, pitted and sliced
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
6-8 servings
1. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan and line with peaches.
2. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, margarine, vanilla and milk.
3. Stir till smooth.
4. Pour over peaches.
5. Combine 1 cup sugar and water.
6. Pour over batter.
7. Bake 1 hour at 350°F.
8. Serve warm or room temperature.
Reply:Peach Cobbler
1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground 1 Tbsp vanilla extract 2 Tbsp cornstarch 1 cup peach nectar 1/4 cup pineapple juice or peach juice (from canned peaches) 2 16-oz cans peaches, sliced, packed in juice, drained [or 1 3/4 lbs fresh peaches, sliced] 1 Tbsp margarine (tub), melted nonstick cooking oil spray 1 cup pancake mix 2/3 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup evaporated skim milk
Topping:
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 Tbsp brown sugar
Directions:
Combine cinnamon, vanilla, cornstarch, peach nectar, and pineapple or peach juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until mixture thickens and bubbles. Add sliced peaches to mixture. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Lightly spray an 8-inch square glass dish with cooking oil spray. Pour hot peach mixture into the dish. In another bowl, combine pancake mix, flour, sugar, and melted margarine. Stir in milk. Quickly spoon this mixture over the peach mixture. Combine nutmeg and brown sugar. Sprinkle on top of batter. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool and cut into 8 squares.
Yield: 8 servings

"This is a quick but company-worthy cobbler. So simple, yet wins rave reviews. If desired, use 2 (32 ounce) cans of peaches in place of fresh peaches. If doing this, use peach syrup instead of water and then omit the white sugar from recipe. Also, yellow cake mix can be substituted for the white."

I have a very sick Peach face bird called Snowy.?
Hey There,
I have a peach face bird called Snowy an Mum thinks his very old. He or she has trouble breathing and starts shaken and always sits on the bottom of the cage. His in a separte cage from his mates. I was woundering if anyone can help me.
We gave snowy some vietimans and worming done.
From Lisa
I have a very sick Peach face bird called Snowy.?
I suggest taking that poor bird to an Avian vet and have her checked, she doesn't sound well at all and I'm sure she's longing for some good medical attention.
Reply:Snowy really NEEDS to see a vet as soon as possible...
Reply:Hi,
I'm very sorry for this, but you have to keep one thing in mind.
Birds DO NOT sit at the bottom of the cage unless they are dying.
I had a cockatiel, 1 year ago, he was very sick, and there was a day which he could not finally stand on a perch, he sat at the bottom of the cage to die slowly.(I love you Magic, R.I.P) He was almost 1 year old, I miss him badly.
Back to your bird, if you care for him, take him to a vet. It's not normal, and to be honest, I'm sorry but he sounds like his dying. It does brake my heart too just to hear a bird is suffering.
Reply:take it to a vet!
Reply:Sorry bout your lil bird. Now, were the vitamins and de-worming done before or after he became ill?
Are his mates showing any signs? Were they all medicated?
Good, Snowy, is in a separate cage. When birds are ill they get very cold. If you have an electric heating pad, place it underneath the cage on low, and cover the cage with a light towel..don't completely cover the cage just enough for some privacy. Keep food and water available.
You can take to a vet, or perhaps they could recommend a good antibiotic.
Take care
Reply:Just bring it to a vet and everything should be fine.
Reply:Obviously the bird needs to go to the Avian Vet (YES it does need to be an AVIAN Vet, because a non Avian Vet will not necessarily have the specialized knowledge that is needed! ). I shall therefore assume that there is a problem with getting the bird to a Vet, and go from there.
Give the bird a source of heat. An electric heating pad placed outside the bars at one side of the cage should do quite well. The bird will sit close to it if he needs more heat, or farther from it if he does not need the heat.
Go to a local farm supply store and get some Terramycin or Aureomycin tetracycline antibiotic. It will only cost about $5. This antibiotic treats respiratory problems. Mix one teaspoon of the powder into one gallon of water, and give it to the bird as his drinking water.
Give him some high energy food such as sunflower seeds. This will give him more energy to fight the illness. Just remember that this is not good as a steady diet.
While you are at the farm supply store, see if they have any free pamphlets on poultry care. Many farm supply stores carry these. It could give you some helpful tips.
E-mail me if you need more help.
Good luck
Reply:The most logical thing to do if you have a sick bird is to take it to the vet, right? What are you waiting for?
NEVER give you bird vitamins except on the advice on a qualified vet. Extra vitamins can build up to toxic levels in your bird. You could kill it.
How does deworming your bird help it to breathe?
